A belt stanchion, a queue barrier post, a queue pole, a retractable belt bollard, a crowd control stanchion - all of them mean the same thing: a weighted post with a belt wound into the head, which pulls out and clips into the next post to make a line where a moment ago there was open floor. How long is the belt, and how far apart do the posts go?

The belt on these posts is 2 m, and for a queue that people are moving through, that is the length we recommend. Set the posts a little under the belt length - around 1.7 to 1.8 m - so the belt hangs instead of pulling tight. A belt stretched taut drags on both posts, and the first person to lean on it moves both of them.

A longer belt earns its keep somewhere else: cordoning off a display, a work area or a stairwell that nobody is meant to walk through, where the span is doing nothing but closing a distance. If that is the job in front of you, a 3 m belt cassette fits the same post, in red as well as black.

Single post, set of 2 or set of 4?

Count the gaps, not the posts - four posts in a line close three gaps, and every corner or branch in the run needs a post of its own. The belt is not a separate purchase: each post arrives with its own cassette in the head, so a run always has more belts than it has gaps to close.

Sets of 2 and sets of 4 are the usual way to start a counter or a doorway. Singles are for extending a run you already have.

Black, stainless, or a red belt?

The matte black post takes a black belt. The polished stainless post takes a black belt or a red one. Red stands out against a black-and-silver fit-out, which is useful when the belt has to say closed rather than just divide.

Airport, bank and counter queues

The posts that get the hardest time are the ones in a line that forms and clears all day - an airline check-in, a bank or teller counter, a boarding gate, a service desk. They get set out in the morning, nudged by trolleys and suitcases, leaned on by whoever is waiting, and moved again at close. A heavier post with a thicker wall is worth the difference in that kind of spot, and that is what this range is for.

Where the posts are set once and left alone - a showroom aisle, a corridor, a foyer line - the weight matters less.

Sign holders for queue barrier posts

Replacement belts, cassettes and bases

On a post in daily use it is the belt that goes first, not the post. Replacement cassettes come in black and red, 2 m or 3 m, and fit these posts. If the base has taken the damage instead, there is a weighted replacement base. The rest of the spares are in ropes and accessories.

Custom and branded barriers

The clear PVC fillable post has a see-through post you fill yourself - building blocks in a toy shop, your own product, coloured sand - so the barrier becomes part of the display instead of standing beside it. Minimum two units.

The belt printed with your logo puts your artwork or message along the belt itself, so the queue line does a second job. Both are confirmed and quoted with you before they go ahead.

On a wall instead of a post?

Where there is no floor space to give up, the same belt mechanism comes as a wall mounted belt barrier that screws to the wall and clips into a receiver on the other side of the opening.
