Premium Retractable Belt Queue Barriers Set of 4 - Silver Post, Red Belt

Four posts for guiding a queue, built a grade up from a standard barrier. The base is a metal shell filled with cement, wrapped in a moulded plastic skin, and it weighs 8.5 kg - enough to stand steady and stay exactly where you put it. The silver finish is stainless steel, polished.

There is more material in every part of it. The base holds 8.5 kg against 6 kg on our standard barrier - about 40 per cent more ballast in the same 33 cm footprint - and the tube is rolled from 1 mm steel against 0.7 mm, with the welds and fixings stepped up to match. Better made, steadier on its feet, and it holds up longer in a spot that is in use all day.

The retractable belt runs 2 metres between bollards. For a queue - people lining up and moving through - 2 m is the span you want: it holds the line tight and keeps people where you put them. Our standard queue barrier carries a 3 metre belt, which suits marking off a static display or an area rather than moving a queue through it.

Questions & Answers

Q: What makes this different from the standard barrier?
A: More material throughout. The base holds 8.5 kg of cement in a metal shell against 6 kg on the standard post, and the tube is 1 mm steel against 0.7 mm, with the welds and fixings stepped up to match. Better made, and steadier on its feet.

Q: Which one should I buy?
A: For a queue - people lining up and moving through - this one: the 2 m span holds a tighter line and it is the better made of the two. For marking off a static display or an area, the 3 metre standard post covers more ground per post. If you are not sure, tell us what the space is and we will recommend one.

Q: How far apart do the posts go?
A: Two metres. For a straight run, count the metres you need to cover and divide by two, then add a post for the end.

Q: Will the belt clip onto posts I already have?
A: Most standard stanchions use the same style of receiver, so it usually does - but we cannot guarantee it against every brand. If you are matching existing posts, order the smallest quantity first and check.

Q: Can it go outside?
A: It is made for indoor use. You can take it outside when the weather suits and it will do the job, but it is not designed to live outdoors permanently - bring it back in when you are finished.

Q: Can I put a sign on top?
A: Yes. The sign holders slide straight onto the top of the post - A3 portrait, A4 portrait, A4 landscape in a matching silver finish. They are the usual way to put "Please wait here", opening hours or a price board where the queue can read it.

Q: Can I replace the belt if it wears out or I want another colour?
A: Yes - the cassette unscrews. We stock replacements in black and red. We can also supply a belt printed with your own logo or wording, which is what most venues do once the barriers are part of the fit-out.

Q: Does it need assembling?
A: Yes, but only just - one screw holds the post to the base. About a minute a post. Two posts to a carton.
