Floor Standing Snap Frame Stands
Poster stands that hold an aluminium snap frame on a pole or an A-frame, for the places where there is no wall to hang a frame on - a foyer, a shop floor, a queue, a footpath.
Three kinds here: adjustable-height pedestal stands in A4, A3 and A2; heavy-duty base stands on a 5 kg metal plate in the same three sizes; and A1 pavement signs built to go outside the door. All of them change the poster the same way - flip the frame edges open, drop the paper in, snap them shut.

Three kinds of floor stand, and what each one is for
Everything on this page uses a snap frame: an aluminium border whose four edges flip open so a poster can be laid in and the edges pressed shut again. No tools, no sliding the print in from the side, no taking the stand apart. What differs is the pole and the base underneath it - and that is what decides which one suits your floor.
1. Adjustable-height pedestal stands - A4, A3, A2
A slim telescoping pole that winds from 70 cm to 120 cm, with a frame head that swings a full 360°. The whole stand weighs 2.5 kg, so one person carries it under an arm, and the base can be filled with water or sand when it needs to sit somewhere busy. This is the one for a cafe menu beside a table, a price board at the end of an aisle, or a stand that gets moved every day.
Finishes: black, silver, gold, or the page with all colours and sizes together.
2. Heavy-duty base stands - A4, A3, A2
A fixed-height stand on a weighted metal plate. The A4 is 129.5 cm tall on a 34 x 30 cm base weighing 5 kg. The snap frame itself is aluminium; the pole and the base are iron, which is where the weight comes from. The pole does not telescope, but the frame tilts on it, so you can angle the poster down at someone standing close or bring it upright to be read from across a room, and it turns between portrait and landscape.
Choose this one when the stand lives in one spot and has to stay put - a hotel foyer, a showroom, a reception, a corridor with people going past all day.
A4: black or silver. A3: black or silver. A2: black or silver.
3. A1 pavement signs - for outside the door
Two designs, both A1 and both with snap frames.
The waterbase sign on wheels has a hollow base you fill with water or sand - about 16 kg filled - plus a spring mount behind the frame that gives in a gust instead of snapping, a carry handle and wheels so it rolls out in the morning and back in at night. Double-sided, so it reads from both directions along a footpath. Also sold with a silver handle or a black handle.
The A-board is the lighter, cheaper option: an aluminium sandwich board with round corners that folds flat for storage. Both faces come with the same anti-glare PVC cover sheet used in our wall snap frames. Double-sided or single-sided.

Which one do you need?
It gets carried around. Pedestal stand - 2.5 kg, and the height winds down to 70 cm to fit in a car.
It stays in one spot. Heavy-duty base - the 5 kg plate keeps it standing steady where you put it.
People need to read it sitting down. Pedestal stand, wound down low.
It goes on the footpath. Pavement sign. Nothing else on this page is built for wind, and an indoor stand that blows over on a footpath is a liability.
You need A1 indoors. The A1 sizes here are all pavement signs. For A1 on a wall, see our 25 mm aluminium snap frames.
Posters and printing
Ordinary office or copy-shop paper is fine for an indoor stand - a snap frame holds it flat against the backing board.
For a pavement sign, the poster has to do the weatherproofing, not the frame. Print on waterproof synthetic stock with inks rated for sunlight. The clear PVC cover sheet is anti-glare - the same sheet we put in our wall snap frames - and it keeps rain off the face of the print, but it is a cover, not a seal. Plain paper behind it goes wavy the first damp morning and fades over a summer.
Delivery
Everything on this page is stocked in our Melbourne warehouse. The pedestal stands ship free Australia-wide*. The heavy-duty base stands and the pavement signs carry a delivery cost, which checkout works out from your postcode.
*For some regional and remote postcodes, checkout can't calculate a delivery cost. If that happens, contact us and we'll send you a courier quote before you pay. There's no obligation to go ahead.
FAQ
How does a snap frame stand hold the poster?
The four edges of the aluminium frame are hinged. You flip them outwards, lay the poster on the backing board, and press the edges back down over it. Changing a poster takes about ten seconds and the stand never has to be moved.
Can an indoor stand be used outside?
No. The pedestal and heavy-duty stands are indoor stands. A 5 kg base is enough to stand steady on a shop floor, but not to hold against wind, and the finish and the cover sheet are not made to live outdoors. If the display lives outside, use a pavement sign with a filled base.
Can I display a poster landscape instead of portrait?
On the pedestal stands the head swivels 360°, and on the heavy-duty stands the frame turns on the pole, so both take a portrait or a landscape poster. The A1 pavement signs are portrait.
Do they arrive assembled?
They ship flat in one carton and screw together by hand - pole into base, frame onto pole. No tools. The A-board pavement sign arrives largely assembled; you unfold the legs and put the poster in.
How high should the poster sit?
Standing eye level is roughly 150 - 160 cm, so a stand in the 120 - 130 cm range puts an A4 or A3 poster right where a standing adult reads it without stooping. If people will be seated - a restaurant, a waiting room - wind a pedestal stand down to 70 - 90 cm instead.
Do you sell these in bulk?
Yes. Most of our orders are trade - retail groups, hotels, agents, sign companies - and stock sits in Melbourne rather than on a boat. If you need a quantity of one size, contact us for a price before you order.
